This project explores the five human senses through a collection of wines for Quinta do Cabeço Trigal. Each wine — Farejo, Travo, Nítido, Amasso and Ruído — was named to evoke one specific sense (smell, taste, sight, touch and hearing), creating a clear and intuitive connection between language and perception. The naming establishes a strong narrative foundation for the collection.
To visually reinforce the concept, bespoke illustrations were developed for each label. These artworks subtly reference their corresponding sense through a slightly surreal approach, where the defining elements of each sense are emphasised and artistically amplified. The name of each wine is boldly presented on the label, set large across the illustration itself. Applied using transparent hot foil stamping, the typography allows a controlled interplay of opacity between the name and the artwork beneath it. This technique creates a layered visual effect, where text and image coexist in balance, enhancing both the conceptual and tactile dimensions of the design. A soft pastel colour palette dresses each bottle, applied consistently across both the main label and the neck tag. The collection is unified by a cream wax seal, creating a cohesive and carefully considered finish that ties the entire range together. (Amasso and Ruido to be launched soon!)
